Who and what I am into this week: A taste of France

Paris_monicalee

I may have mentioned that I am getting the travel bug back. I was so happy to give traveling up to snuggle in at home after having spent years as an international flight attendant. There was a time that I would travel to Paris 2 to 3 times a month! Good wine, lots of jet lag.  Now after plenty of time spent in my own bed, images of France are catching my eye everywhere. The longing to travel has returned and this is what has triggered it….

First on all I am SO into Olive Us TV. The is web show featuring Gabrielle Blair’s sweet family. They seem to be having the time of their lives as ex pats in France and I can’t get enough. My favorite one is Betty in Paris. SO DARN CUTE and my mom’s name is Betty, awwww.

The second trigger was when I found myself moving some art in my office and I couldn’t bring myself to remove the photos that I bought from Little Brown Pen…which is now The Paris Print Shop. I own the yellow and blue set but I think I may need the pink set as well.

Also, I am so into this book I picked up, Paris Street Style: A Guide to Effortless Chic. I have been making my way through it slowly as I sneak breaks from a very busy couple of weeks. My favorite photo (so far) is this scarf image.  I made a deliberate study of French women and their scarves during my trips to Paris. This may have led to my own personal scarf addiction which has only been fueled by a cold neck and short hair. I would love to say these are ALL the scarves I own BUT alas…these are about 3 layers deep and I have a small dresser in my closet with more!

Oh I love all of these images! Paris is always on my mind too. As you so observantly pointed out, I have a romantic perspective on things, so it’s no wonder. And I’ll have to check out that book — I’d love to look like an effortless Parisian!

Bonjour, mon ami :-) from fellow Francofile :-) ). I would bet my scarf collection is as big as yours – and yet, I buy more… Can’t help myself. Some women buy shoes, I buy scarves… My problem lies in the fact that I live where it is hot and humid most of the time. Scarf-wearing window very slim :-( . Lets go to Paris and wear our scarves!

I am also addicted to scarfs! I can never have too many! I hate it in the summer when it is too hot to wear them!
