What to do when you are in “the meantime”

Today I am sharing my thoughts with you about “the meantime.” I know it sounds like I am saying “Maine time” in the video….I have such a hard time taping myself alone, argh! You should see how much editing I leave on the table (and a bit I left in at the end…)

The meantime is the period of time when you are on the path to your dreams. It is when you are working towards your goal. It is when you are building your body of work, testing your skill set or your expertise. This is the detailed building block phase of your creative career.

I know from personal experience that there are many days where you feel like you are traveling aimlessly in a circle. YOU ARE NOT (it’s a rotary, haha! Ok, joking aside) All the hours you are working away, you ARE working towards something. You just might not be able to see it clearly yet. Hang tough and get your ducks in a row, your time is right around the corner.

In this video, I am giving some tips for you and your business while you are on your journey.

Your email came at a perfect time! Thanks for the suggestions and advice. I love your suggestion of focusing
on what you are good at. I am still trying to narrow it down
to what I love to do and what I am good at. I am getting better but it seems slow some days. Lol.
I agree with you that creative people “love to do it all”. Been there, done that, and it isn’t fun. Being focused, and doing what you love and what you are good at can get boring at times but it is better for us and is less stressful as well. I think if you are in a bored rut, just tweat your plans a bit so as to not go off course of what your goals are. I guess it’s all about balance. I appreciate you!

I totally fall right into the whole “Oh, I’m so bored making this product.” But I tell myself it’s the only thing selling right now (sold over 300 of them in the last 3 months!) and I keep going. Right now, I’m just trying to figure out my next move and I think I will take your advice and re-examine my web presence.

Great advice, thanks Monica! I also think it’s really important to check in regularly with your goals – revisit your plans at least monthly so you can steer in the right direction and stay motivated. And no, not too bossy!!
